What is the Armed Forces Covenant?

The Armed forces Covenant is a series of pledges from the people of the United Kingdom to support members of the Armed Forces community.  This is the official wording

An Enduring Covenant Between

The People of the United Kingdom,

His Majesty’s Government and all those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces of the Crown and their families.

Countersigned by Col. Neville Holmes South West Commander

We are the only funeral service in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset & Dorset to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant.  Only ten funeral directors in the entire UK have signed and all of them are independents.

We believe that supporting those who have served their country is the biggest thank you we can give.

Working alongside the Royal British Legion and Torbay Veterans we believe we can really make a difference to veterans, serving personnel and their families.

One of only 10 funeral directors in the UK to have ever signed the Covenant

What does it mean for our community

We have made a series of public pledges to members of the Armed Forces Community.

We pledge our support in the following ways:

  • Promoting the Armed Forces Covenant

  • Supporting employment for all members of the Armed Forces Community and their families

  • Offering our support to local Cadet Units and through schools

  • Actively supporting Armed Forces Day

  • Offering discounts on our services to members of the Armed Forces Community

  • Actively offering support to Torbay Veterans , The Royal British Legion and other local veteran groups

Prestigious ERS Silver Award Holders

We were delighted to receive the prestigious ERS Silver Award in 2022.

As a small business we knew we had to work really hard to obtain this award as only 1 other funeral director has ever achieved it in the UK, so we were over the moon when we were notified,

To give an idea of the scale some of the 37 South West Region winners in 2022 were:

Great Western NHS Trust

University of Exeter

Gloucestershire NHS Trust

Brady Construction
